Yes they are, that what I'm using with my Joe2006 right now. Hobbycnc pro boards are a great starter board.

I dont mean to hijack the thread but this is related....
Ive just completed the hobby cnc pro board and my joe 4x4 router. EMC2 knew about the board during the stepconf wizard which was great. However,
I cant get mine to work properly yet. Ive got 305oz steppers (bought from hcnc with the kit) but cant get the velocity/acceleration numbers right.
Any help available? Thanks.

Velocity and acceleration numbers will depend on how efficent the mechanics are as you build them as well as the power supply voltage.

Im hoping someone can give me a starting point at least. The best I have managed is a single step every 3 or 4 seconds. P/s is 36vdc.
Im happy that all is working as I tested the trial of mach3 and all axis worked fine. I want to persevere with EMC2 though if I can.

Start with low numbers for velocity and acceleration in stepconf wizzard and on each axis click on the button to test the axis. Up the velocity number till it become unreliable, then back it off by ten percent. The do the same with acceleration.

Thats what ive been doing Phil. Can you give me an idea of what numbers I should be using? At least then I have a target.
I spent more time on it today and achieved the same result ie 1 step every few seconds. Im expecting that this is not how it should be. I should be hearing/seeing the motors spinning.
I appreciate you taking the time to advise me Phil..Thank you. Its quite frustrating when I try the mach3 trial version it just works. As far as the motors and jogging etc are concerned.

Actually, Ill give you a run down on what ive done. You already know what hardware I have.
In stepconf wizard I selected the hobbycnc pro driver which automatically inserts the correct timing signals so cant be adjusted (2000 for each item I think). Paraport is default except A step and direction pins are allocated to Y for dual motors on Y axis. X axis config is 200 (but have tried 257 for 1.3 deg motors), stepping is 1/4 or 4, Pully is 1:1 cause there arnt any, leadscrew pitch is set at 12.5 (2 turns per inch = 12.5mm per turn), then theres the elusive velocity and acceleration where I have tried low numbers right up to the hundreds.

Interesting you like the hobbycnc pro board. Just had to make a comment because I have not had success with it. Other users on the yahoo forum have had tons of problems with the board. Everything from poor packaging, wrong assembly instructions, missing parts, you name it. Glad it seems to be working for you though.

I have found it is not a good board and the owner of this home based company is a pain to deal with. If I had to do it over again, I would buy a different board. Buyer beware!!!

If you can actually get the hobby cnc board to function. No luck here. Along with many other un-satisfied customers. Waste of money on my part.
