    New CNC Controller

Hi, I never posted in this forum so I though I would say Hi..

I am planning on trying out EMC and have started to put my CPU/Controller cabinet together. I am going to install this with Yaskawa 400W drives on a CNC plasma/oxy-fuel table.

I have used this hardware in the past with custom written real-time code for an automated drill. I figure rather than try to re-invent the wheel I'll just use EMC. After seeing there are already drivers for the 4I65 that made it that much easier.

    Specs
    700Mhz CPU/ PC104/+ - EBC Layout
Mesa 4I65 FPGA - IO, Encoder, Analog
    Mesa 7I33 - Analog/Encoder Board
Opto-22 Relay Module - All IO

Heres a PIC I have so far.. what do you think.. Not finished yet, lots more wiring to go. And of course finishing up the table....

Very nice start. I use the opto relays too. Have you done a latency test with your hardware yet?

If you have not yet purchased the Yaskawa drives.....I have two 400W yaskawa drives and motors (ac brushless servos) that are about 5 years old...but have never been powered up. I was building a machine a few years back and switched gears on the drive selection partway through the project. If interested I will get more info and some pictures. I will sell them for a fraction of what I paid for them.
