| Need more information. I think you mean that you are using EMC with a cnc4pc card and when running a cnc program it doesn't send commands to the parallel port. What version of EMC are you using. How did you set up EMC? Did you use stepconf or a sample config? how are you checking the parallel port for signals? |

| maybe start here on the wiki: http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/emc...cKnowledgeBase have you read the manual? is it to be a stepper based machine? what kind of machine? lathe mill router? |

thank's for chester88 for answer my question,,. may i ask u'r email address for more information?? i have already read the user manual, integrator, and hal documentation.,., i realy confused. If i want to use servo driver that has alot of I/O..,. such as Servo ready,servoAlarm.,. is there anybody has configure or change input pin to output pin,,.. because my problem is i have more output,, but i just use it a little,, i using board from CNC4PC C11,, if i want to use mitsubhisi servo driver, it has servo ready, servo alarm, reset servo, analog speed command (+ and -), so each servo must need 6 port.,,.,,. any body can help me to configure it and give me wiring example for complex servo.,,.,. thank's God Bless You |

| Ok you say you want to use the existing mitsubhisi servo driver but the cnc4pc as far as I can see is only for step and direction drives. You need a I/O card that will produce analog +-10 signals (for command speed). mesa 5i20 or ppmc servo card (from Pico) are two well tested/used cards that can output analog. They also have more general I/O then a parallel port. If you are using analog servo drives then you need to get feedback back to EMC. This is usually through quadrature encoder- either from the drive or seperate encoders used just for EMC. If you want to use the cnc4pc for step and direction drive (usually stepper motor drives but some servo drives accept step and direction signals) then using EMC's configuration program called stepconf. The cnc4pc apparently needs a 12.5 htz pulse to enable it's outputs- stepconf can do this but I'm not sure exactly how to set the pulse rate. read the manual or wiki or ask on the emc mailing list or emc forum on the linuxcnc.com website. I also saw on the cnc4pc web site they had a sample HAL file you can download you could start there. |

| Version 2.2.5 is pretty old and if I recall stepconf was very buggy then. You should either upgrade to 2.2.8 (instructions in the wiki) or download and install 2.3.0 (instructions also on the wiki). Either way, it has a working Stepconf wizard for setting up a stepper type system. While there is not a configuartion for CNC4PC, you could probably try the sherline and or Xylotex config (settings are opposite of each other). HTH's Brian |

I just upgraded mine. There's still no G12/G13, but there are some nice little changes. |
