X axis won't work on emc2

Hello all out there,
I realise that this may be an impossible question but can anyone suggest some possible reasons/solutions for the following problem? I have a small mill which, at the moment, I run on a windows program(KCam), and have built a router run by emc2. Each machine has separate stepper drivers. The mill runs ok on windows & the router runs ok on emc. but when I try to set up the mill on emc I cannot get any movement on the x axis - y & z are ok. It is really driving me crazy!

I assume you mean try swapping the pin numbers in the machine config? if so I've tried every premutation there is. Now the z axis has decided to join in the fun.

Kinda hard to help with so little information...

Is the mill and the router "EXACTLY" the same down to the last wire and part?

Unhappy

I realise that there could be a miriad of reasons, I was hoping that someone may have had & fixed the problem. No, the drivers for the router are a higher spec. as I needed more amperage, (I had to boost the output signal from the // port to get these to work, as the normal voltage was too low). What I do not understand is why the mill works on windows (same computer - dual boot), but not on emc.

Pedro,

Each machine will need a configuration that matches the timing specs on the drivers (Unless they have identical specs). Also there is the question of whether the gearing (thread pitch, direct drive or geared, etc) is the same. Also given the different weights of the differing components, it is likely that acceleration and max velocity will also be different (not to mention limits).

Alan

correct data for axes travel?

I found this kind of problem with the z axis turns out you have to give table travel like -4 to 4. I tried 10 to -60 first which lead to minimum and maximum travel of 0.001 mm
