emc will not open

Hello Everyone

I have just installed emc on a computer with the live cd .Which version I don't
know ,copied a stepper config into my file folder of emc.
When I run emc the file is in the tree of the folder , but I get an error message
tree file error.

Any suggestions ?

your question is a bit vague.. One of the emc developers asked if maybe you have a space in the directory name? Can you be more specific about the error - maybe a screen shot?

Hello again Here is the message I get when I try to open up my mill.

Error main.f1.f2.f3 tree selection set:cannot select unknown node
"/home/rick/emc2/configs/ricksmill/ricksmill.ini

This is all new to me ,I have used mach3 in the past and I have just
found this coputer and did the live cd install. The step configure went
quite well, I just can't open it in order to run it.

Did you follow the step by step Getting Started Guide?

What kind of install did you do dual boot or clean install?

Yes it is a fresh install on 650 mhz with about 625 mb of ram.
