I keep getting the "realtime" error but I'm not sure how to correct this. I've read the latency tutorial, but my keling drivers did not come with any documentation to tell me what the step length, step space, etc... of these drivers are, so I have no way of following the tutorial. Keling's own website doesn't even have the information. Anyone else having this problem? |

| i just started having it today. Did you ever get it worked out? I am setting up a Sherline 4 axis mill. everything wired up started to do the configuration and ran into a total lack of data to support the keling 4030 timing requirements.

| thanks fur the numbers. I have an other problem now. the cnfig program runs, and emc2 runs but nothing is comeing out of the parallel port. It shows in the bios setup at the standard address and it seems the program sees it there, but no output. I am going to dig around and see if i have a pp card i can add and see if that works. If life was easy then anyone could do it.

| OneAndy here is some info on realtime error. http://www.linuxcnc.org/docview/html...agnostics.html Are those timing numbers working well, if so I'll add them to the wiki site here. http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/emc...r_Drive_Timing |

They work ok for me. I make no warranty that they'll work well for others. Just for reference's sake, I'm running those numbers on a: Asus A7N8X Athlon XP 2600+ (1.92ghz) 1 gig of pc 4000 ram Ubuntu 8.02? (whatever the version was on the livecd available on linuxCNC) |

| OneAndy, The numbers for your drive doesn't matter what computer you use them on as it is the minimum drive timing requirements. The computer matters if you can generate step pulses as fast as the minimum. If you have a slow computer or a busy one then you just go slower. I'll add the timing info to the wiki site here. http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/emc...r_Drive_Timing John |

| i found out the parallel port in my dull computer was dead. nothing coming out the port at all but enc2 was running fine. i replaced the computer with a compaq presario with as alathon 2800+ i am using a c10 breakout board into kl4030 stepper drivers the steppers are KL23H286-20-8B at present i am using the following step time 2000 step space 2000 dir hold 20000 dir setup 20000 my latency is 20000 min base period 29000 max step rate 34482 i have the max velocity set in the axis setup at .3 in/sec the steppers i am using are about two times too big. I think i can get better preformance from the 2000 with smaller motors. i think i still have some tweeking to do.
