| Hello world I have a Maxnc 10cl machine with which Iam playing with.I have tried Mach3 but i have two spare toshiba laptops p233 cpu and 32meg of ram in each .can I run emc2 on them and does anyone have the ini file for stepper motor that require quadrature steps. |

| I can help you there I think. You will have to modify the hal files a bit for your machine. I'm still in the process of "fine tuning", but it runs quite well. I will say though that 32 megs of memory isn't going to be enough. I had 256 megs and was running into a brick wall until I brought the memory up to 512 megs. There may be ways around it, but memory is cheap and I just wanted it to run by that time. Also there are those who say that EMC2 won't run well on a laptop, and it's probably true, but if you're like me, you use what you got. I've got a laptop and haven't had any issues yet. Bill K. |
