PSSST.... I got the stuff man....

now I just wish there was a simple(?) manual on how to hook it up. My sphyncter is quavering.

first thing I'm going to do is attach HEDS encoders with 500 CPR wheels to my servos. Then I'll run sheilded cables from the encodersto the control box.

Then I'm thinking rip the MOBO out of the Dell Optiplex 230 and stick it where the current ancient control boards are. Install Matrox vid card, install the MESA 5i20 card, and then bolt the 7i33 and 7i37 cards to a panel.

Hook the encoders to the spots where they get hooked up, and then....

About here I run out of steam.

I'm going to have to research where the SEM analog drives get their +-10v inputs, where the coolant on, E stop, spindle on/direction stuff gets hooked up to, and just about everything else.

There is nothing that says something like connect the E stop to pin # such and such on the 7i37 card, just which are ins and which are outs. Will the EMC2 MESA part of the set up say, or do I connect to any pin and then tell the computer what is attached to that pin?

I know just enough to get myself in a true boat load of trouble.

Most of the i/o pins, you hook them up where you want and then use the EMC configuration files to tell the computer where you hooked them up. There is no fixed setup for that part.

The +/-10v is set up already in the sample config.
