On top of the usual problems that come with a wine solution, theres the matter of the dongle (HASP). I'm not sure how wine handles dongles.

There might be a work around but the moderators will hit me with a hammer for mentioning it. Maybe even for dropping this hint.

wine

I couldn't tell you about Mastercam, but I am running a bunch of other programs under wine. Here's what I have going:
Ubuntu 7.10
Wine 0.9.46
Autocad 2000
Rhino3d 2
Vectorcam 9.3
Intellicad2000
Progesoft 2008 (the latest version)

None of them have a dongle. Sorry that I couldn't help on that one.

I have had to do minor tweaks to things to get things going. Fonts are the thing that have hung me up the most. I ended up copying a bunch of windows true type fonts into the /Windows/Fonts/ directory and that helped a bunch.
If you do get anything going with wine, use the command winecfg to open a config editor to do some tweaking on the application that you are working on. I found that making the 'desktop manager control the application' in the graphics tab helped a lot.
Good luck. I will keep tabs on this thread.

Thanks,
Dan
