Newbie- machine power in mini interface

hello I hope somebody can tell me whats wrong with my mini interface
I have just started with emc after using mach3 and am new to emc.
I have things setup and working with all interfaces axis tkemc keystick etc
but can't get past the error message for estop / machine power when trying to do anything in mini interface.

another thing i havn't worked out is errors running code.(wrong O's G's etc..) and try to comment out or delete lines etc.. I have opened my old files as well as example files and when i edit them they wont save the changes. no errors etc.. , have saved and reopend aswell as save reload and the file dosn't save changes.

have googled problems and can't find any referance. can't find out who the source of mini interface is aswell.
