After updating to 2.2.2 and using the stepconf to set up my system my speed (single axis) increased 60%! I can now get 650 inches per minute on my X and Y axis... More than I need so I can gear it back for the 500 IPM I need and get better resolution on my plasma cutter. My current gearing is 1.5 revolutions per inch. I have a 10 micro stepping drive so that's 2000 pulses per revolution or 3000 pulses per inch. That means I'm generating 32,500 0 and 1 pulses per second for my gecko 203v drive. Stepconf makes the setup so easy anyone can do it now. Thanks to the EMC developters for writing Stepconf. John |

They just announced the release of 2.2.3 yesterday (1/28/2008) with some bug fixes (some related to stepconf). Alan
