Need Help!- Windows XP access in Ubuntu 6.06

Hi I am trying to find out if its possible to use or access my win xp cam program and or files from within ubuntu. I have tried to read the drive from ubuntu but get mount errors. I don't mind if I have to duel boot and use my cam soft but I would like to be able to read my nc files from both OS's, is this possible ? new to linux ubuntu emc2 etc.. I have googled and found this blog I don't know if this is what i might need to do (http://czarism.com/easy-peasy-mount-ntfs-w-ubuntu-linux).

Absolutely. That tute you linked involves remote login so he must be accessing another machine unless he's ssh'ing the current machine (if that's even possible??). The author should have made that more clear. I'm assuming you're running a dual boot system?? If you need to access a seperate machine that tute skips over waaaay to many details.

My preferred solution to running windows programs is a virtual machine. Not something I want to walk a new user through however.

To mount Windows partition (NTFS) under linux, it is better to use ntfs-3g. Ubuntu 6.06 should support it.

If you want to run Windows programme under linux. You can either try WINE or install a virtual machine, such as the VirtualBox.

I found a lot of info for this newbie and was able to mount my windows xp
drive so i could get my cam program files without rebooting and copying to disks etc..
