Where do I find stepconf?

I see it in the documentation but I can't find it on my machine.
Of course I'm still learning and it's probably right in front of me. Can someone point me to it?
Was it included in the Ubuntu LiveCd?

Thanks,
Chris

Select it in the Applications > CNC menu. You need version 2.2.2 to run it.

Buy me a Beer?

if your running the latest emc ubuntu then emc will automatically add the configuration folder to home when you fire up emc

It looks like I have V 2.1.7. It's what came on the live CD I have.
The synaptic package mngr. says that an upgrade isn't available.
I haven't done anything with the emc system yet. How hard would it be to change it out?
I really would like to reconfigure the pins and limit switch setup.

Well looking closer at Linuxcnc.org I see that 2.2.2 is std. now on the livecd. I got mine only a couple of months ago but it just missed the new release.
My update manager doesn't list any new releases.
Hmmm....

you have to follow the wiki instructions on how to upgrade to 2.2.2

There are a couple of manual steps that you have to follow.

there are some links on this page

Are the files at sourceforge precompiled?

The script for loading emc2 at the wiki is for V 2.1.7
(don't ask how I know that )

Chris,

Just go to this link and it will tell you how to get your machine to update to 2.2.2. You can get the binaries at this link but when I tried it, it wouldn't install because of a conflict with emc2 (go figure). My machine wasn't on the net so I couldn't run update and I ended up getting it so screwed up I had to download a new live cd and reinstall.
