Wow! That's incredible!
Did Stustev have something to do with this?

One of the other developers is converting his maxnc machine to 5 axis. He has b axis working - you can see the second rotory table on the bed. He wanted a physical machine to do programming.

The aspec ratio is a bit screwed up and a bit dark.. He will make some better vidoes soon. They have been adding some pretty cool stuff to emc2

freakin cool

and another video.

The tool tip is following the coin on the table.

Chris' description

I just got my 5 axis MAXNC hack working tonight. On a 5-axis machine, the tool orientation and the point on the workpiece are programmed separately. You can change one without changing the other. You can see in this video that the tooltip is over the workpiece (penny) which is at X1 Y1. As I move the rotary axes B and C to change the tool orientation, the tip does not move with respect to the workpiece. This requires complex compensating motion of the table and head. This is possible with the power of the Free and Open Source EMC2 motion control software. Work in EMC2 to support these kinds of machines is ongoing. http://www.linuxcnc.org
