Can you rephrase the question ?
If you just want to transfer programs from/to the Mazak, this isn't really an emc question. I used to transfer programs from a Mazatrol Cam 2 to a laptop, although the exact details of how are a bit foggy at this point. Networks are networks, regardless of operating system more or less. If microsoft can talk to the Mazak, linux should be able to do the same.
If you want to transfer programs that are to large to store in the Mazaks memory, ie drip feed as done by DNC software. I'm not really sure.
edit/ I'll let the post above stand although the temptation is to erase it. The memory is partly clicking in and the stuff posted above is mostly untrue. The maintenance guy did some alterations to the connector at the mazak. Not sure what but he left it hanging off the machine and it stayed that way ever after! It was that kind of shop. I can't remember the laptop having any special communication software. That is not the same as saying there wasn't any. Maybe I can dig up some notes on it from my junk pile. Sorry for cluttering up your thread.
