Well the emc2 developers have done it again. They have figured out how to make the emc stepgen module output a step per period. You can read about it here. http://axis.unpythonic.net/01188134101
This is only in trunk -> the development branch of emc2 so it will not make it into emc2 until the 2.2.x release. I does need testing though. If your energetic you could install trunk following the directions here. http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/emc...nstalling_EMC2
You need to follow direction in section 3. This builds a 'run in place' version of emc2 in your home directory. It will not effect your installed emc2.
anyways I have been testing it for the last few days. It is pretty damn cool if you ask me. I am running a small engraver at 7.5ips(450ipm) with a base_period of 30us (input_scale of 4000). Normally the maximim you could get out of that period is 4.167ips(250ipm).
Here is a video of the poor engraver running around with each axis set to the above. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_OUNLruaVQ |
