MaMar,

You just use a 25 pin straight through cable to connect to the controller. If the controller does not include a Breakout Board then you should put a BOB between the computer and controller.

The live CD already has a patched kernel so you don't have to do any patching. In the configs folder there are sample configs for 3 and 4 axis stepper systems. One of the configs matches the step-dir configuration used by Xylotex. I used that as my starting point. I don't have a Xylotex, but my BOB used Xylotex pinouts as well.

You may have to do a little tuning to match your specifications but it will give you a good starting point. You probably should print out a copy of the user manual for guidance.

I would suggest that you make sure and start from EMC2 2.1.4 or later. The configuration changed a little between 2.0 and 2.1. So by starting with the later versions you only have to learn things once.

Alan

thanks for your replay
but what is BOB that i must use
by the way the controller use 3 couple of L297 & L298 which just need ENABLE, STEP, DIRECTION for every stepper to move.
thanks

BOB = Breakout Board - it lets you plug in a 25 pin cable end and then connect individual wires to the various pins. SOmething like what you will find under "Stepper Breakout" or "Opto Breakout" on this site : http://www.embeddedtronics.com/
