Hi from Argentina, after doing some research on first class trademark's, like Yasakawa, Fanuc or Parker, i found that his own kits for axis and spindle have PID control (and an encoder feedback from the drive to the PC card). The EMC already have a PID control, what should i do ? To use PID at the Drive or at the EMC, or both of them ? Or use second class trademarks without PID control, lowering the costs, and using an encoder directly to the card (MOTENC). The last option sounds good for a production drilling machine that i have to get done where precision is nor a must, but not for a production lathe that have to get done where precision is a must. | It's probably a good idea to have the position-PID loop run in the PC on EMC. That way you will have the actual position of the machine on-screen in EMC all the time. If your drives have PID loops for keeping constant speed or constant current (torque) then that should improve performance. There are a number of open-source/hobby servodrives for DC or AC servos around if you want to save money and build the drives yourself. |
