    EMC with what g-code generator?

I have some g-code files created under mach3 that when EMC opens give invalid gcode errors... So will ACE generate proper files? or is there a better way?

Does it tell you what the errors are? Id guess that possible the I,J settings for arcs are different (absolute vs incremental), or it's possibly one of the first few lines of code, with all the different Gxx's in it.

    opencam

    Just a heads up...
I just downloaded and installed opencam and as soon as I clicked on the desktop shortcut it broke my ubuntu installation. I couldnt open any folders or open nautilus in terminal...and all the icons and folders disappeared from the desktop.

The ubuntu was a newly installed linux emc version with no modifications on my part. Luckily I have backups.

There isnt any documentation to the opencam software but I think it does some strange things to the ubuntu emc installation....?

on the linuxcnc wiki there seems to be a warning about Opencam:

'and dangerous install; attempts to overwrite your libstdc++ without regard to architecture.'
