adding 2nd pport

going to try emc2.

I will need to configure a second pport.the auto config only works port 1,but doesn't do port 2.can some one post their hal ini with a second port configured.i need a pattern to follow for the syntax. I have my port address's,but real confused what and how to edit.A 2 printer port hal to use as a map would be nice.

thanks for the link,it has a few things but adds more questions.they give functions to use in a file but not where in the file.there are examples of syntax in one post and three post later they post a correction to the syntax.the port address's i have but config for two files is sketchy.a working ini for a 2 port to use as a map would really help.

Are you adding an extra par port for a pendant or a fourth axis?

I am adding 4Th rotary and 5Th linear.
I have port 0 and 1 recognized.
just cant wrap my head around the config in both ini files for the syntax.
also i have to get the 5th dro up on the screen.
if i type in a 5Th in both files where does it go.
every thing that i read has conflicts,set the port in,set the port out, don't set the port etc:etc:ha,ha
