    EMC2 A Axis Control

Is there a way to configure EMC to manually move the A axis either by steps or degree incrementally. The only option Emc currently allows me is continuous.

    thanks

Axis. I am also having trouble with the A in my programing. Should I be adding feed rate to the program or not. When ruining A manually it runs smooth however when I run the program it is choppy no matter what I set the fee rate at. I am running the A independent of any other axis in the program.

Please describe exactly what the machine does for each of the first 5 lines in the example you posted.

Laser welding. turning the A then firing the laser. There will also be X & Y Linear movements as well but after the weld sequence. We will be turning the part 360 deg but this is how far I got when I noticed the problem. This is a new setup bu did not figure to have an issue like this. We run Emc on our mill but have but only XYZ.

The purpose of the program is not important. The exact machine response is. Pictures would be sweet. Video even better

    N2 G4 P1 Everything in dwell
N3 M3 G4 P1 Spindle on (Toggle Fire laser) This works
N4 M5 G4 P1 Spindle off (Toggle Laser off) This works
N5 G1 A10 F300 Step motor rotates 10 deg but is jittery for lack of better explanation
    N6 G4 P1 Dwell

I added N6 as the machine started to fire before the move was completed.

As a side note, if I turn the A stepper hooked up to the Z axis everything works as it should. And I would have it this way except I would need need to change the stepconf every time the diameter of a piece would change.

Do you have a way to post a link to your configuration files?

    Pastebin.com - #1 paste tool since 2002!

Pasting the files in this forum would be a lllloooonnnngggg post.

This is a tuning issue. The first thing I would look at is the max velocity of the A axis as set in the ini file.
