of the jog speed slider. In fact, on my mill you can give the dial a big flip, EMC will take off at maximum speed and keep going for a long time to catch up to the POSITION of the jog dial!
This has almost gotten me in big trouble a couple times, and I had to madly crank the dial back the other way to avoid a crash. I do have a button on the pendant that enables the axis being jogged, so that it won't move if the dial is accidentally bumped.
So, the basic idea is if you have the jog dial set for position mode, EMC tries to follow that at whatever velocity you give, up to the maximum limit. There is a velocity mode setting for jog dials instead of position, but I rely on moving the machine in known units, so I have not tried that.
