Newbie- Auto Home?

Okay I am a newbie in the CNC world. I have built a machine and can make it go through all its paces so that is not the problem.

I like EMC because it is free but am curious if there is a function that will send the spindle back to the defined home positions? I have not set up home switches yet and I am getting the feeling that that is what I have to do.

Any help?

That is pretty much the answer. You could use soft limits and define home without home/limit switches, but the first time you lose steps your machine is not going to be able to get back to where home was. I say bite the bullet and install the switches. It is really not that big a deal and in the long run you will be much happier.
