sending commands from EMC over ethernet

Hello,

i want to send the movement commands from emc2 over ethernet to an FPGA board. In the FPGA board there will be the realtime stuff like the interpolation of the axis.
Now my question: Is ist possilbe to link the command for the movement to ethernet somehow?

Hey VNC would let you run EMC2 over your network.

thanks for the quick answer, but i dont want to run emc over network, but just sending the motion commands which are used in emc after the interpreter over network to an fpga board.
The idea is to use emc2 as control-gui for a cnc control which will be inside the fpga..

It doesn't sound like it, but I'm after the same thing. I think think the PWM and PID loop should be run on dedicated hardware, with EMC queuing it motion commands over ethernet, or high speed serial.

Google up "emc rtnet".. someone had something going, didn't sound like anything ready to drive our machines though

I was hoping to chain multiple EMC2 machines (PCs) together in co-operation ...

eg. one machine that controls a pallet feader, and is controlled or controls/tells the other machine to start cutting.

I heard you can control EMC2 remotely... would be a daunting task to setup though.
