So i am a long time Windoze user and Mach3 user. ![]() I want to make life easy for myself and have been doing lots of reading. I have had my mill working (Testing) and am very impressed But i don't want to get into bad habits, but also take a few short cuts My question relates to the custom.hal file As I will need a total of three Parports Can i just put all the port addresses in the custom file and leave the files created by stepconfig untouched. Any info on setup and use of a PoKeys as this has analogue inputs to use at speed & feed over ride. I have RTFM but didn't see any mention. |

| What version of stepconf are you using? the latest stepconf allows for loading three parports. The fist parport would be used for stepping axis the other two would need to be connected to signals in the custom HAL file. so to re-cap you can : load three parports with step conf The first one stepconf helps you set up signals for. the other two must be connected in a custom HAL file. The custom HAL file will not be over written. The INI and regular HAL file WILL be over written. You may get more answers about Pokeys in the EMC mailist Chris M |
