    Default LinuxCNC Screen resolution.

I am looking at checking out LinuxCNC as a viable option, anyone know what the minimum screen resolution is? I have some Kiosk touch screen displays that are 640 x 480.
Other systems I have tested overscan and make them unusable.

The screen resolution is up to the GTK based screen design. None of the default ones are that low of a resolution. You may have to roll your own

My first question would be-what inputs do the kiosks take? hopefully vga.

I re-checked, they actually go to 800x600, but in trying out Kmotion for example, they overscan.

This says the minimum screen is 1024 x 768 but I seem to remember running the default axis GUI on a 800 x 600 monitor. It was a long time ago.

You can drag and resize the screen in LCNC but you can't make it smaller than the native resolution the screen was created in. When you build a screen in Glade you tell it the overall size at the beginning. The screen objects come in preset pixel sizes Some of the objects are resizable (larger) some are not. If the monitor won't do the resolution the video card won't make it higher.

Its hard to fit much stuff on 800 X 600 and if you make the buttons or numbers too small they get really ragged.

This is a virtual box - 800X600 and axis interface.
