Probotix Meteor Fireball won't read a Mastercam NC router post

Hi all, is there a Mastercam post that will run EMC2?.

Hi all, is there a Mastercam post that will run EMC2?.

No

No post actually runs a machine

A post processor is a decoder type file that translates the operations (toolpaths) created in the CADCAM software....into a NC coded file ( that then is used to control the machine )
( the post is customised to suit the specific machine control )

You need
- a PC that is capable or running Mastercam software ( Requirements LINK )
- post processor
- (if needed, RS232 transfer method ) Transfer software ( Mastercam does have a choice of text editor/transfer software bundled with the install )
- network cable/cards, if a PC to PC transfer method

Mastercam is not proven to run on Linux
.....plus you shouldn't run any CADCAM software on a PC that also controls a machine

Running one may affect the operation of the other

I made the toolpath in Mastercam, posted it in Mastercam using the router post from Mastercam. Loaded it in my Probotix computer with my flasdrive,but it said bad charactors on several lines and other lines had other errors. I had to use Aspire with a Probotix post but Mastercam is much more user friendly for toolpaths. Thank you for the help.
