To all: I work for a company that caters to the material handling industry. A distributor has approached us looking to design a cart to move a heavy load vertically (down) using gravity only. I am looking to source extra long shock absorbers or dampeners that will allow this to happen. Specifically, I am looking to move the cart 72" and it will carry a load of 2500#. Powered hydraulics and pneumatics are not an option; the unit must be self contained. /R, NearBeer |

| Hydraulic cylinder to air over oil cylinder. Size the cylinder to compression load of ??? psi. I use this as counterbalance mechanism. You can use line air supply or use captive air or gas. Like nitrogen charged shocks or similar to the cylinders that support many hatcheback lids. Dick Z
