    question about load rating linear guideway

    Does anyone knows if Hiwin HGW 25 HA block can handle dynamic load of 40kg? the basic dynamic load rating is 32.75 C(kN) and the basic static load rating is 76.0 Co(kN). I don't know how to interpret that.

    40Kg = 0.412Kn, so I'd say yes.

    is that mean I can put 300kg on the Hiwin block and slide it back and forth on the rail? (sorry for the stupid question).

    ok is that mean the max I can put on each block is 3,338KG(3.338 Ton)? It seems like too much weight for a small block can handle?

    These linear rails are very impressive for such small size. I don't doubt that they will carry a ton and a half each straight pulls. When you start rapidly changing direction and apply different cutting pressures, the actual loads on the blocks and rails are quite high, so they need an abundant load rating.

    No, the max load you can put on each block is 76KN or 7750 kg.

    The static load rating is the maximum load the block will withstand before the balls or raceways deform by 1/10000 of the ball diameter.

    Dynamic load rating is the average load that the block can handle for an estimated service life of 50-100 kilometers of travel (varies among mfgs). Lower load means longer life and can be calculated.

    Vertical machining centers in the 40x20 range typically use 40mm linear guides. Although the guides can handle much higher loads than the machines would ever encounter, the larger guides are necessary to minimize deflection.

    25 a "small block"? 16s handle around 2 tonnes and 25 is not a small block, not by a long shot. in fact most of what I've seen on cncz is oversized when it comes to blocks.

    also, don't forget to multiply that by whatever number of blocks you'll be putting on your rails, so if, for example, your Z-axis will be riding on 4 blocks along Y-axis then your (dynamic) capacity will be 4x3 tonnes or 12 tonnes. Even a 16 is over the top in my opinion.
