I am building a gantry mill. I have two actuators I want to run parallel for the x axis. The problem is that they both have different ballscrew pitches. I have mach 3, so I have considered running one side as a slave and tweaking the motion to be equal with the motor tuning feature. My other thought is to find a ballscrew and nut match. My concern with e-gearing through Mach 3 is that under start-up and over time, missed steps will induce stress and problems. My concern with matching pitches is cost. Any thoughts? Thanks. |

| When using slaving in Mach3, all settings for the two axis must be the same.
