Hello Gang, Has anyone tried the 8020 'sliders' on extruded aluminum bars for a linear system in place of THK's or V-wheels?. Im building a belt driven 24x48 table and Im curious about these 'sliders' as I call them, they ride on inserted HPE type slippery self-lubricating shoes. I attached a pic from 8020's ebay store. The shoes are made of UHMW-PE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene). Thanks, Vinny Heres the pic - http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...2/SERIES15.jpg |

| Bush type sliders have substantially more friction and/or play than rolling mechanisms. Also, aluminum extrusions aren't very straight. They're usable for general purchase applications such as laboratory automation, but IMO, they're not a good choice for accurately machining detailed parts, such as the guitar in your avatar.
