I am in the process of building a CNC machine and I have noticed a distinct lack of cheap, easily available linear components like ballscrews and bearings.

I am thinking about starting an online store supplying cheap linear parts for DIY CNC guys.

I am located in Australia and would be able to ship world wide.

So be honest and tell me if its a good idea. I am happy to compile a price list for everyone to see if enough people think its a good idea.

While I'd be interested in a local supply of CNC parts, there are a number of reliable suppliers in China and the USA that you'll be competing with.

16mm dia ballscrew with nut. 5mm pitch, 1 meter long.

$92USD or $123AUD at the current exchange rate.

Here's one. eBay seller linearmotionbearings. Freight from China is not cheap but you'll have similar issues if shipping overseas.

i dont care if it costs a bit more than the chinese guys as long as you have a good selection, quick postage and pickup if possible
