NEMA 23 & 34 Bolt pattern & end frame size in. measurements

Hope these drawings will help someone else. I've had to convert these a couple times myself.

posted in .jpg and .dwg formats.

Drawings are for motor case referance only. Shaft size & length may vary from motor to motor.

Recomend these measurments be checked across the face of the actual motor being used.

Most (all?) Nema 23 stepprs have a .25" shaft, not .375". Usually, if they have a .375" shaft, they are larger 60mm motors, and not Nema 23's.

    Ger,

I think that some of the higher torque Nema 23 steppers that Keiling sells are 0.375" shafts.

The drawing was taken from a 570 oz Nema 23 that does in fact have a 3/8" shaft. Good that you pointed it out though Gerry, I'd hate for someone to do machine work based on the shaft & then be wrong. I have edited the first post accordingly.

Yes, but they are not Nema 23, they are 60mm, which are larger. I checked that before I posted. I didn't check the hole pattern, which may be the same, but the motor is 3mm bigger than a Nema23.

    Gerry,

The 570 oz in motor I am using is also 60 MM across the flat sides of the case. It was sold to me as a NEMA 21 by someone other than Keling. I did look up a Keling 282 Oz in motor, case size listed 56.4 mm (NEMA 21) & the end bell bolt pattern, center hub & bolt hole size are the same.

So aparently they are calling the higher torque 60 mm case motors NEMA 23 merely because the end mount is the same.
