Hi. I want to make a fully supported base. I want to use the supported round 20mm rails with the partially open bearings for the x-axis slides. The base will be 1530 80/20 Al extrusion. The main question is what is the best orientation for mounting the rail base? 1) on top of the frame so the round rail is directly above the frame or 2) mounted on the side of the frame A secondary question is if anyone has any tips or tricks for mounting the rail base to the extrusion. Just drill and tap holes in the extrusion to match with the rail base holes or are there any 80/20 mounting plate adapters out there? Thanks! |
