Someone out there makes aluminum linear rail that has 4 strips of hardened steel for the bearings to glide on. The bearing carrier is NOT of recirculating ball design. It has small needle bearing roller bearings in the carriers. Can anyone tell me where it is avalible or who manufactures it? Below is a pic of a small piece I made my Z axis from I found it on Ebay. If I'm not mistaken Torchmate uses this type of rail on their gantrys. From my experience having both the Alum rail carriers resist contamination much better than the recirculating ball type.
