acme thread mixing

can you use a 1/2 '' 10turn acme thread on one axes and a 5/8''8turn on another axes on the same cnc. useing lets say mach 3 .

Sure, no problem. Mach 3 lets you set the steps/inch independently for each axis.

thanks for the reply ahren sounds like a good idea. now i need to find a place that makes it around here since im in canada.it costs to much to get it from the states.we get hammered with taxes when it comes over the boarder, thanks to our great goverment lol.

just a thought but it would be nice if someone whos is naulagable.... didnt spell that right ,but anyway.lol. would come up with a chart on lets say acme rods max lenghts before the whip thing starts to happen . would help save a lot of cash for us new bees. miststakes do cost.

Calaber,
I have helped several people in Canada buy parts from the states along with my parts. USPS shipping helps, as the import duties are not nearly as high as with UPS or Fedex. If you're interested in purchasing a lead screw through McMAster Carr or some other site, I can ship it along with an order.
As for screw whip, Nook industries has a calculator for this. Go here, and click on the "critical speed" calculator to help you figure out what you need for your screw.
