Mixing Preloaded&Standard linear trucks on same rail -pros and cons ?

Hi All,

I've got an assortmentof 8 Hiwin HGH15 trucks with rails for 2 axes.
4 of the slides are preloaded while the other 4 are standard and are easy to move.

My questions is : is it bad to mix preloaded with standard trucks on same rail ? I'm thinking of distributing the 4 preloaded trucks for the 2 axes so I have a preloaded truck on each rail -any downsides ? Or is it better to have just only one type of truck on one rail?

I can distribute them like this for each axis :

1st rail -1preload+1standard
2nd rail -1preload+1standard

or

1st rail -1preload+1preload
2nd rail -1standard+1standard

Which way is better ?

Florin, I'd go with the second arrangement. Two preloaded trucks on the guiding rail and two non-preloaded on the second rail. The non-guiding rail/truck assembly would carry some portion of the load as well as carry moment loads to counteract tilting/tipping tendencies.

Just to clear out something :
the trucks and rails are for the Z and Y(gantry) axes.
I'm also considering using all the preloaded trucks for the Z, but not sure which axis need preloaded trucks the most, however I guess it's the Z where it's going the be most welcomed ?
