Hello I have a Denford Viceroy TDS1/1 with a worn cross slide acme nut. i would like to fit a ball screw as part of a CNC retro-fit. Here is a picture of the X slide in pieces. ![]() The acme screw is 1/2" diameter with a 0.1" pitch. It includes a gear for cross feed. I am seeking advice on the best and reasonably economic method of fitting a ball screw. The first question is what diameter screw would be appropriate. I could probably fit up to 3/4" max not including the nut. Is there a reliable seller of good used ball screws? Any advice would be much appreciated. |

| My main concern is the lack of space down the "tunnel" where the cross slide acme screw goes. I don't thin there will be room for the nut. I was wondering if the ball screw nut could be mounted in the far side of the cross slide. |
