Need Design Help

Looking at somehow fabricating a rotating axis in the middle of the CNC table in order to tune the rails into one plane.

Was thinking somehow of using thrust bearings & radial bearings on the axis, then attaching sort triangular rods to it with a dial on the end to test the rails all around. Any ideas?

Mounting a dial indicator in the spindle and rotating by hand would be much easier. Maybe a mirror to see the dial when it is facing the pillar.
Most measurements can be done relative to the spindle.

There is no spindle, this is a wood cutting home made router. I am trying to build a spindle of sorts that can around the table.

Cool Right angles.

Let the moving part draw lines.
3-4-5 triangle is 90 degrees. A 5-12-13 triangle is too.
Draw a base line, then check other axis movement from it.
Get the base line STRAIGHT first.
Then the (intended) right angle line STRAIGHT
Now ensure the right angle lines are at 90 degrees to the base lie.
Draw a right angle (using 3-4-5) from one end of the base line to a point A from A'
Draw a second right angle (using 3-4-5) from the other end of the base line to a point B from B'
The distance from A' to B' should be the same as A to B
Mark a point C' halfway between A' and B'
Mark a point C halfway between A and B
Draw a line between C and C'. That line SHOULD BE 90 degrees to the base line. At least you will halve your 3-4-5 errors.
As for getting the level correct in Z a clear plastic tube with some water, an assistant should soon get all the corners at the same height.
Small diameter medical tubing is ideal.

you mean run a water tube long enough to span the length of the machine, end to end?

That's right. LONG home made spirit (or water) level. Gravity at work.
