I am currently working on an 8' x 8' x 5' machine and as you can imagine lead screws are out of the question not only with regards to price but also the whip of an 8' screw. So my question is... Where can i get 16' belts? Ive never had to use drive belts before so this will new ground for me. Also does anyone have any images of how the belts, pulleys and motors fix to the extruded aluminum as this would really help me visualize how I can adapt my drawings. Many thanks guys, Paul  |

| I have used BrecoFlex belting, they make products for this application, I have used it conjunction with Aluminum extrusion, ran the belt through an opening running through the extrusion. The make I used offer a carriage that run along it using an open ended belt, both ends being clamped to the carriage, if I can dig the pic up I will post them. The Breco site may give you some ideas also. Al.

| Gates has synchronous belting on the roll up to 30 meters long. Also, they sell a splicing plate to join belt ends. Just imagine, 30 meter belts joined end to end. lol Dick Z
