| On a manual/cnc, or teach lathe, im curious to know how is it possible for the saddle to be moved manually via the handle(rack and pinion), when a ballscrew also controls the saddle? wont the ballscrew and nut hold the saddle? Is the ballscrew fixed, and a rotable nut used? I know that the motors hold position in cnc mode, but in manual mode can a ballnut simply be pushed along the screw? Thanks KB |
