Hello all, I've been looking around at forums on people's work. My expertise is in Electronics and controls, but I lack the mechanical design aspect of things. I would like to construct a small linear feeder that has a stroke length of maybe 2 feet. The resolution and accuracy does not need to be extremely precise, and I might even just use stepper motors. I was wondering if there are any sites or resources available on some examples of construction. thanks. |

| There are many methods to move an object. That being application specific, posting greater detail in what you need to move, could be quintessential to the mechanics involved. At least relative to what others can offer up here. Be that linear rails like this or a linear belt like this Then of course, there is pneumatics with an air cylinder/valve/linear rail, if that were an option. Rodless cylinders are neat in that regard. Doing some web research on linear motion can lend all kinds of concepts to your project. DC
