i think i posted this in the wrong area so here it is again.... this is not for a cnc but a special project that will require motion in opposing directions from the same leadscrew so i figure i will have to make my own. i see a way to make the nuts from derlin, but i wonder how to make the lead screws? is there a special die that i need?? Looking to make 3/8 - 6 leadscrews. |

| You can buy acme screws that have both left and right hand threads. Is that what you want? Nook makes them. www.nookind.com

| yeah 1/2 of the screw would be RH the other half would be LH that way when the screw rotates the nuts either get closer or farther away depending on which way its turned... I want to be able to make something and not buy $$ is a issue.... |

| I think you'll need a lathe to do that. Unless you can pull one from a woodworking clamp. http://www.woodcraft.com/images/products/143628.jpg
