I have a question about getting the proper spur gear to run on the rack I want to use the Gear rack shown here: http://stdsteel.com/gr_stock.htm Item 200011 and this gear: part # S1166Z-024A012 from https://sdp-si.com/eStore/ What i don't know and can't find is if the rack and the gear having a different diametral pitch will work. |

| Hi Ozturbo I looked at the options from sdp and std steel - there is remarkably no obvious compatible gear for the racks listed (at least in the general range typically discussed here). I might be searching wrong, but I did not find a match. In addition to D pitch, you also need to match pressure angle. I have seen more options from boston gear's catalog that will cover you. Their list of stocked spur gears is amazingly complete. They also sell rack. I found it quite valuable to read Boston Gear's literature on the 14.5 degree vs 20 degree pressure angle. www.bostongear.com |
