I am reballing all three axis ballscrew nuts on my VMC and looking for a ball bearing supplier that deals with odd sized balls. These will not be a traditions size. Example, one will need to be .15682. Please let me know if you have any references I can call. thanks |

| Damn, I just ordered balls yesterday from Bal-tec. They are a little pricey so I might call these people and see how they stack up. I would say Bal-tec has a lot of "balls". I guess comparing to reground screws, this is pretty cheap. We'll see how long it runs tight. I honestly think reballing is something the rebuilders and mfgs do not want you to do because it takes money out of their pocket. However, if the condition of the screw and nut are good with similar backlash throughout the travel, balls are your friend. We have already reloaded one axis with another axis' balls to test and works great! Took my Z from .0035 to .0018 backlash. I have a ways to go though. |
