I'd get something with about a 10-20mm pitch.
Hi to you all
This is my very first post, and i hope to get things right here.
I am in the very beginning of my router project and almost all of the parts for the frame are bought.
I am now looking for ballscrews and i'm a bit unsure of what i need. The working area will be approx. x-axis2000mm, y-axis1000mm and z-axis500mm. The steppers i have been looking at have a holding tourqe of 8,5Nm. So the question is what kind of ballscrew's do i need? And....maybe this is the wrong forum for this one but, will the steppers do for this size of router.
The frame will be built of boschrexroth aluprofiles in size 90x90mm.

i agree with ger21. Also if you didn't see it, there's a thread at the top of this forum which covers ballscrew basics. That holding torque of 8.5Nm is 1200 oz-in, and should be ok. If you want more speed and/or power, servos are the way to go. I don't know what your budget is, but a ground ballscrew with 2000mm of travel will cost about $1500+-500 or more unless you find something on ebay.
