I'm looking to buy a pair of HSR-35's (or equivilant), with four bearings. These are double-contact bearings & rails with caged balls, about 7/8" square rail - Anything between 26" - 30" lengths. Does anyone know any online suppliers / distributers? Preferably with their prices listed online or thru a catalog - I don't want to do business with a salesman over the phone, I'm just buying a pair for a prototyping project.

| Do you really need 35mm? Those are really massive. I just got a set of 25" HSR 20's on Ebay for $170. If you're not in a hurry, Ebays your best bet.

| 25's will due just fine. If the costs are within a certain threshold, I would prefer the largest possible naturally. Did you buy yours new or used from ebay?

| I bought from ebay before some new and some used. I have a nice pair of hsr-35s which are 36" long cost me $320 about a year ago. I will settle for used, but prefer new; unless it costs a fortune. I think I found something around 30" 2 rails, and four blocks for about $250 new.

I invite you to take a look at our selection of HIWIN linear guideways at www.automation4less.com. All our pricing is online, but HIWIN requires that we make you log in to see it. That takes just a few seconds to do...and you don't have to talk to anyone. The HIWIN HG35 series has a four-row bearing design. There are some variables that I could not know that could influence things, but I priced out 4 standard HGW35CCZ0H blocks and two pieces of rail 700mm (27.58"). Total cost of those items delivered to you in the lower 48 states via ground shipping comes to $538.29. If you don't have to have slides with four-row bearings and you're not absolutely bound to the 35 size, our new venture, Automation Overstock (www.automation-overstock.com) has a great buy on some "combination packages" of a piece of rail measuring no less than 780mm and an LGW20 "flange" block for $78.10. We just bought a HUGE inventory of HIWIN's older stock (both medium [AG] and heavy [LG]) which are two-row bearings. It will be a few weeks before we get it all in our warehouse and sort it out, but we'll have sizes up to 65...and plenty of it! |

| The HSR's u mention aren't caged. The SHS is a newer model that is. Both are available to browse and buy online through THK's online store. http://www.tos-world.com/webapp/wcs/...11751&msgFlg=Y I found a really good deal on ebay: two SHS20 1800mm rails 4 blocks for $350 new. If you look hard enough, you should be able to find what u want for much cheaper than the THK online store. |

I made a slide using the Roller Bearing Pillow Blocks. It has to be the smoothest slide you'll ever build. It also reduced motor draw by just switching bearings. Check them out. Jim |
