Best source for precision ballscrews?

I'm looking for some precision ball screws, something around +/- 0.001 per foot, but eBay is running a bit thin. Any other good sources? I'm looking for around 21 inches of travel per screw. Also, are there any other good options for linear motion that is fairly efficient? This is for a medium sized router which is going to be used on aluminum.

Most of the Hobby Shops advertised here have reasonable Priced Ball Screws.
You are looking for precision rolled!

Precision Ball Screws

Hmmm.. I thought precision ballscrews were ground... However, for most hobby apps, rolled ballscrews should be okay. As for sources other than E-Bay... Google it.

"Precision" is somewhat of a misnomer.

Precision to one guy is sloppy to another - it all depends on your frame of reference.

For our needs, ONLY precision ground screws with preloaded balls will duffice - we're looking for accuracies measured in 0.0001". Yet, someone who's doing wood milling might be able to get away with 0.005" accuracies - not that they will but the example is for illustrative purposes as most wood/router discussions don't involve the need for accuracies in tenths.

For a "machine tool grade" precision, rolled typically won't do - ground is the way to go. HIWIN has off the shelf ground screws for Bridgeport mills that are available in LONG lengths. Their commonality makes them quite affordable and adaptable.

Rockford and MC offer rolled screws that may suffice - again, I don't know what you are literally looking for in the way of "precision".

Call (don't write or e-mail) HIWIN direcly for info - ask for "Tech assistance" when you do call. They do have good info on their website.

For my aluminum milling CNC machine I used rolled ballscrews ordered from mcMaster Carr. I believe they are Thompson brand. My cuts come out great.

Just be careful if you order rolled ballscrews, the first couple I had were bent slightly, and had to be returned.

You might want to check out LSI Lead Screw International.

That is truly amassing! How many of you have read and understood the Question??
You are going to the whole accuracy thing when the guy has already specified his needs.
While I think it is very nice to help and reply! It is not necessary to waste space with hypothetical jargon.

Are you kiddin me RALLY ??? We simply made suggestions to help this guy, you and want to jump on all of us with both feet. I thought this was a decent site for this type of help. You are apparently all knowing on this subject and we should all take a step back and let "roll"!

In light of the following listing:

I'd surely HOPE that they'd have a screw to fit it.....

If they dont have it, they can build it -- I have delt with them on several occasions.

Dear Sir,

Following are the links for the High Precision Ball Screws.
They will not be cheap.
My suggestion is to take a ballscrew of 0.002 to 0.003mm precision & do Pitch Error Calibration of the axis.
Always prefer Double Anchored Ball screws for High Stiffness & Thermal Stability.
