Eliminating/auto correcting racking on dual screw axes

Sorta on topic sorta out there:

What about an endless belt, one motor, driving both ends of the gantry?

I'm definately not going to rule out any belt configurations just yet, but to install a belt, I'll have to rework all my motor mounts and move all the lovejoy couplings, so I'm still keen to try it with just an electronic link for now.

I am also a bit wary about having two metre long belts on pulleys that are running at 4000 rpm - I see great accidental bandsaw potential

Wow 4000 rpm.
I meant direct belt drive, i.e. belt pulls both ends of gantry.
