I'm having troble with backlash on my ball screws wich is about 11 tho this is the ball nut I,m using http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ballnut-25x5-B...QQcmdZViewItem I think the problem is that I left the deflector room to move inside the sleve/cups I made this is fitted on a bridgeport clone x and y same backlash no movment on the bearings ect. The nut is 40 mm dia and I used two cups to clamp the nuts in the yoke anyone got any suggestions I think that I need to make a sleve so that the deflector can't flex out Thanks for reading |

| It's not a problem. Either you squeeze the "deflector" with thin steel/brass foil, for example the ones used to line up jigs in machines. Or you make it adjustable from the outside with an adjusting screw by drilling a hole in the sleeve/cup with a fine thread. You can also make the middle of the sleeve like a clamp so you can tighten it over the deflector. I have the same Isel nuts and they are very easy to adjust. Regards, Sven |
